After calling and scheduling an interview, I was connected tp Mr. Raymond Piedmont. What a conscientious and professional guy! (He has the demeanor of someone I would have loved to sit a coffee house table for conversation!) He was very knowledgeable; great at listening; super PATIENT and polite with my questions (and hearing impairment); and he asked me the “right” questions (doctors, medications, etc.) to help sift through what coverage was most important to ME. I wasn't sure at the time, but I told Mr. Piedmont about my current coverage and he scheduled a follow-up time with me for a deeper dive into my current versus other options that may be available.

I tried another company who supposedly specialized in Medicare Supplemental plans last year and could never get them to call me back this year. My sister told me about Senior Savings Network so I called. The level of customer service has blown me away. I wish I had found out about them sooner! They have not only saved us money, but they are SO knowledgeable on Medicare and Supplemental plans. Call them before you enroll in Medicare! And even afterward, like we did, if you want to save money!

Update: SSN called me today to let me know that our Medicare supplement plan was going to have a large rate increase next month. I thought we'd be stuck with them forever since my husband probably wouldn't make it through underwriting any more with all of his various health conditions. But Emily told us that since we were within 60 days of my husband's birthday, he qualifies to make a change in Supplemental plans without going through underwriting thanks to a fairly new law passed in Oklahoma a couple of years ago. So Eleni, who is licensed in OK called us right back and in less than 30 minutes, she enrolled us with a different company and together, we will be saving over $1,400 in premiums next year over our current plan.

I had gotten several videos from my sister who had been telling me about the longer term benefit of having original Medicare, which made sense to me, but that meant I had to understand how to navigate the system from an advantage plan, choose a supplement plan and then determine a dental, vision and hearing plan. Because I had so much going on in my life in 2024 I wasn't able to make an appointment to talk with a SSN (senior savings network) person until close to the end of the open enrollment period. After applying, it took awhile for the underwriting and final approval, which made me very nervous. I spent an hour on the phone with Maxwell Baity. I came prepared with approximately 25 questions and asked another 10 or so questions on top of that. He was able to answer them all. I was also on the fence between Plan G and Plan N. He was able to provide solid facts that convinced me an N plan was the best option. I knew it was time to switch to Original Medicare and I wanted to be as informed as possible to do it right. I found Senior Savings Network on YouTube and watched the videos for several months. I scheduled an appointment online and it was easy. My experience was seamless from acknowledgment of my appt time to reminders prior to it. I can’t say enough good things about these people. Noelle helped me choose a Supplement plan that was the right fit for me, as well as a Part D Plan. I also asked to be added a Dental and Vision plan that would meet my needs. I was connected to the Senior Savings Network through YouTube searches and was amazed watching the first video. I love Christopher Westfall's detailed coverage of the complex and confusing Original Medicare plus Supplement versus Medicare Advantage (disadvantage) Plans. Mr. Westfall is an excellent teacher and I have learned so much. Wish I had known the advantage of choosing Original Medicare when I turned 65. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enroll in Original Medicare due to health issues, but was able to enroll in a very good Medicare Advantage Plan and also enrolled in an Indemnity Plan to help cover co-pays with hospitalization and other chosen benefits. I don't think I can adequately describe how beneficial the videos published by Chis Westfall are. I saw a few minutes of the hearings held before the Congress referencing the Medicare Advantage programs and how the false advertising is misleading thousands of people into a Medicare nightmare. I was dreading the notion of applying for Medicare because I thought it was going to be so complicated. First of all, the YouTube videos from Senior Savings Network were extremely helpful and they gave me a sense of trust in these people because they derive their fees from the insurance agencies and not from me. I studied as much as I could before calling this company and Kendall Pace really made the process of applying for Medicare clear and easy. It was smart to arrange two meetings to finalize this enrollment. The first meeting ultimately resulted in me applying for a Medicare number and waiting for the card to come in the mail, and the second meeting finalized how to pay for it. The in-between time was spent researching what Medicare was and re-watching Senior Savings Network’s YouTubes again. I wrote out questions to ask before our phone meetings which kept us on track. I was dreading the notion of applying for Medicare because I thought it was going to be so complicated. First of all, the YouTube videos from Senior Savings Network were extremely helpful and they gave me a sense of trust in these people because they derive their fees from the insurance agencies and not from me.
I studied as much as I could before calling this company and Kendall Pace really made the process of applying for Medicare clear and easy. It was smart to arrange two meetings to finalize this enrollment. The first meeting ultimately resulted in me applying for a Medicare number and waiting for the card to come in the mail, and the second meeting finalized how to pay for it. The in-between time was spent researching what Medicare was and re-watching Senior Savings Network’s YouTubes again.
I wrote out questions to ask before our phone meetings which kept us on track. Kendall gave me answers that were concise and accurate. Kendall was very knowledgeable of the Medicare system and so delightful on the phone. It’s nice to know that I can email her with any questions. Hello Christopher, Please be advised that on Friday 12/2 Noelle and I had a call to review my 2023 Medical Plan. To my surprise promptly at 11:00am I received the call from Noelle not a minute early not a minute late. She introduced herself and informed me that she will be assisting me with my 2023 Medicare plan. Immediately we proceeded to review the medical benefits plan and arrived to the conclusion to keep the services I currently have including the Supplemental Plan N. A part of the call dealt with Plan D prescription drugs which I currently have through my wife's medical insurance. However this service will be terminated on 12/31, hence my urgency to purchase a plan. Noelle did spend some talking about Plan D and emailed me some information to review the different drug prescription plans available in my area and suggested the one with the least out of packet. That's exactly what I did. Based on a call I received earlier today, It looks as if I had been approved for Plan D coverage. However and as I was advised I was transferred to another agent whose job was to sell me a Medicare Advantage and Supplement Plans, to which I categorically refused. This is something I had been prepared for. Bottom line, I find myself fully covered on the medical side for the oncoming year as you have done all the tedious work for me/us. Finally, throughout the call and subsequent email communications we had, Noelle was gracious and professional. She was very patient with me and answer every question I had to my satisfaction. Lucky me! Had I NOT been checking into my YouTube app, I may have not realized how Medicare Generations Advantage, is neither MEDICARE nor an ADVANTAGE. I viewed Chris Westfall's Senior Savings Network video(s) and knew I had to reach out to this Senior Savings Network and see if I could return to Medicare with a supplemental plan. What was amazing is they contacted me immediately. After some questions, I was contacted by their representative Melanie and a meeting scheduled for November 22nd, 2022. I have been approved to go on Original Medicare with a supplemental plan N. I also enrolled via “StartD” which had all the info I needed to include a drug plan. My husband who's been on MA (Medicare Advantage) could not switch. He has numerous health concerns; Diabetes (insulin), had a heart attack and is on all kinds of meds. I learned this summer how MA is neither Medicare or Advantage from his falls, covid, and generally losing the ability to walk etc. After his recent hospitalization with Covid, they sent him to skilled nursing for more PT, and OT. They called me that night and said MA only allows 21 days, and 60 days between for him to stay. I was so mad as he truly needed the care. I picked him up the next day and didn't do the appeal. I did a fair amount of research into my need for Medicare gap insurance over the past year or so. I'm not eligible until May 2023 but I also know from talking with Melanie today at Senior Savings Network that I can lock in my rate early which we did on a great phone call that I had with her today.
