Do I need a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement plan?

You are not required to enroll in Medicare Advantage or purchase a Medicare Supplement plan. However, Original Medicare alone generally leaves you responsible for deductibles, coinsurance, and other costs. Original Medicare also does not have an annual out-of-pocket maximum unless you have other coverage. Your options may include Medicare Advantage or Original Medicare combined with a Medicare Supplement plan and Part D coverage.
