What is creditable prescription drug coverage?

Creditable prescription drug coverage is coverage expected to pay, on average, at least as much as standard Medicare Part D coverage. Examples may include certain employer, union, Veterans Affairs, and TRICARE coverage. If you have creditable coverage, you may be able to delay Part D without a penalty, as long as you do not go 63 days or more without creditable prescription drug coverage.
