When can I buy a Medicare Supplement plan without medical underwriting?

Your best opportunity is generally your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period. It begins when you are at least 65 and enrolled in Medicare Part B. During this period, an insurance company generally cannot deny you coverage or charge you more because of pre-existing health conditions. After this period, medical underwriting may apply unless you qualify for a guaranteed issue right.
