When should I enroll in Medicare?

Most people first enroll during their Initial Enrollment Period. This seven-month period begins three months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and ends three months after your birthday month. Your enrollment timing can be different if you are still working, have employer coverage, receive disability benefits, or have another qualifying situation.
